Practising God’s Presence

Scriptural Text

Matt 25: 1-13

Isaiah 58:5

God is not the one responsible for your sickness. Jesus recognizes those that are His. Even in your sickness, do not draw back. He is working in your situation. Remain in the secret place of the Most High God.

Favour is what you receive that you do not deserve. When you listen to the word of God, you become clean inside. When you know the love of God over your life, you will not worry, you will not worry about what people say. When Jesus raises you up, nobody can bring you down. His gifts and calling are irrevocable.

In Matt 25: 1-13, there are two categories of people here; the foolish and the wise virgins.

The ten virgins can be likened to the Church of Christ. The oil means your intimacy with God in prayer. It is the ability to seek God first in everything.

The lamp of the wicked shall be snuffed out and he will remain in darkness. The lamp of the wise do not go out because they have constant supply of oil in their lamps. Make sure you have a close intimate relationship with Jesus.

Let everything you do be borne out of love for Jesus Christ. When you love Jesus Christ, you will be ready to obey Him.

Man on their own cannot help, only Jesus can put it in their hearts to help you.

Constant conversation with Jesus will bring regular supply of oil in your lamps.

Only your intimacy with God can bring out the brilliant brightness in us. Even if you do not have much to say to God, Good Morning Jesus or Thank You Lord is enough.

When you commit sin, ask God for mercy, forgive yourself and move on with your life.

The reason you are sick is because you sinned but God is still looking for ways to draw you back to Him. Even when you prayed for healing and you’re not getting it, start walking in love. The highest form of warfare is walking in love.

To walk in love in Isaiah 58: 5-14; to divide your bread with the hungry; to bring the homeless into your home. When you have a problem, begin to do good to people. Look out for people in need and pray for people around you. Intercessory prayer is the highest form of prayer.

The only way to keep yourself humble is to constantly remind yourself of where God picked you up from. You must do everything with joy because you do not deserve or merit it.
